The drink
True North is dark in the glass and dry on the finish. Burnt orange and roasted agave come first. Woodsmoke and bitter botanicals sit underneath. A slow flicker of chilli arrives last, after you have swallowed.
It is bitter the way an amaro is bitter, rather than sweet the way most alcohol-free drinks are sweet. Complex enough to sit where a negroni or an americano would, without the alcohol.
Taste: smoky, bittersweet, botanical, citrus, dry.
What is in it
Gentian for the bitterness. Agave nectar and green coffee bean for depth and body. Ashwagandha, panax ginseng and damiana, the three botanicals the blend is built around. Capsicum tincture for the heat at the end. The colour comes from carrot and blackcurrant concentrates.
Vegan. Gluten free. Under 0.5% ABV.
Contains high caffeine. 116mg per 100ml, around 58mg in a 50ml serve. Not suitable for young persons, pregnant or nursing mothers, or those sensitive to caffeine.
How to drink it
TNT. 50ml over plenty of ice, topped with a good tonic and a wide slice of orange. The everyday one, and the quickest.
Smoky Spritz. 50ml with 100ml tonic or soda in a large wine glass full of ice. Garnish with orange or red grapefruit. Add a slice of fresh ginger or jalapeño if you want more heat.
On the rocks. 50ml over one large cube with a twist of orange peel expressed over the glass. The best way to taste what is actually in it.

Nomadic Smoky Spritz
The everyday one. Long, cold and bittersweet over plenty of ice.
Build
- 50ml True North
- 100ml tonic or soda
- Orange slice
Method: Fill a large wine glass with ice. Add tonic or soda then pour in True North. Stir gently. Garnish with a large slice of orange or red grapefruit. Optional garnish: a slice of fresh ginger and/or a slice of fresh jalapeño if you like it spicy.
Nomadic Paloma
Pink grapefruit and agave, with a Tajin rim.
Build
- 50ml True North
- 100ml pink grapefruit juice
- Agave syrup
- Soda water or grapefruit soda, to top
- Pinch of salt
- Tajin, for the rim
Method: Rim a highball glass with Tajin. Add grapefruit juice and agave, stir. Pour in True North, top with soda or grapefruit soda. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
Nomadic Bloody Mary
Smoked salt, tomato and heat. Built for a long lunch.
Build
- 50ml True North
- 150ml tomato juice
- 10ml Worcester sauce
- 10ml fresh lime juice
- 5 dashes of Tabasco sauce
- Celery salt (or smoked sea salt), for the rim
Method: Rim a highball glass with a mix of smoked paprika and smoked salt, and fill with ice. Combine tomato juice, Worcester sauce, lime and Tabasco and stir. Pour in True North. Garnish with a celery stalk and a herbal sprig (thyme or rosemary).
Nomadic Cafe Corretto
Cold brew over one big cube. The morning-after pour.
Build
- 50ml True North
- 50ml cold brew coffee (we recommend something floral, like Ethiopian beans)
- 10ml agave
Method: Pour coffee over one large ice cube, add agave and stir. Add True North, then a sprinkle of large rock salt onto the ice cube. Express citrus peel and drop in as garnish.
